I use multiple mediums for my monotypes: oil-based printing inks, acrylic printing inks, collage made from my own digital art and photography, collage created/painted for my monotype work, and mixed media. My matrix is heavy Japanese 21” x 17” Bamboo paper, either full size or cut smaller.

Most of the art I have created focuses on the study of the abstract form. There is a dichotomy in my mind between what I think and what I create visually, and there is no direct inspiration I could follow to guide my work. I have thought about this for quite some time. Now I have come to an understanding that might illustrate the division between the thought process and visual expression. For much of my life I have kept immersing myself in the study of various subjects, including history, literature, and especially the sciences. My mind is drawn to complex issues and multiple explanations. The art I create is the illustration of this energy and process. But like seeing writing in a foreign language one does not master, the connection and meaning to the sourceare obscured.
